Units

Postby Brandon Pham 1F » Sun Oct 08, 2023 7:27 pm

Are there preferred units in chemistry? Like if we were to leave an answer in a different unit like mL and not L, would it be considered incorrect or is it acceptable? If there are preferred units, what would the units be?

Hi Brandon,
While it may vary from professor to professor and from situation to situation, I know there is something called "SI units" that are commonly preferred in chemistry. For example: meters, kilograms, Kelvin, seconds, mols.

The metric measuring system is typically preferred.
