I kniow we can use the molar mass to convert grams to mols. However how do you use the molar mass to find the grams of an atom?

In order to fid the mass of an atom in grams you would take grams/mol, which is the molar mass and then multiply it by mol/6.02x10^23 in order to get the grams per atom. You are basically converting the mole into avogadro's number so that it can go from a mole to atoms.

You would take the mass per mole which has units of g/mol and is given by the periodic table and then divide by Avogadro's number which has units of atoms/mol.
