chelate

Would this be considered as chelate (the ring form mentioned in class) if so what does it mean or why is it formed in that way? thank you!

Yes, this is a chelate. The image shows a metal ion (M) bonded to a ligand that forms a ring structure around the metal. This ring formation is what defines a chelate, allowing the ligand to bind to the metal ion at multiple points, stabilizing the complex.
