Homework for Week 2
Does the homework for week 2 need to be problems about the quantum world? Can we still do problems from fundamentals for homework this week?

You can do problems from either the Quantum World or Fundamentals for Week 2

Go to Dr. lavelle's website and click on the syllabus. All of the homework should be listed there, separated by topic. Here's the url https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... SYLL_1.pdf

It may depend on how late in the week your discussion is, but my TA said that it could be either the Quantum section or the Fundamentals section.

Re: Homework for Week 2
I think Dr. Lavelle mentioned in my lecture that since we are still practicing the fundamentals to prepare for the first exam we can pull HW2 problems from the fundamental section of questions! He said HW in general is pretty flexible.

My TA just said that as long as you do 7 correctly (7 that you have not turned in previously) then you are good! You can still do it problems from Fundamentals!
Re: Homework for Week 2
Is homework still being collected by TAs at the end of lecture on Friday or are they collecting it during discussion sections now?

Re: Homework for Week 2
My TA told me that we were allowed to do any homework problems from previous assignments, so we can turn in some week 1 problems for the week 3 homework. As far as I understand it, we can just do any problems that we feel like we need more practice on.

They are collecting them during discussions now so don't forget to bring your homework to discussion!

Re: Homework for Week 2
I have the same question that if my discussion is on Friday, can I still do the homework from the previous chapter?
Re: Homework for Week 2
What's the late policy for hw? I couldn't find it on Lavelle's syllabus, maybe i just missed it but I didn't realize hw was now being collected during discussion.

The syllabus under Quantum only has chapter one homework questions, so I would recommend you just do those.

I had to speak to my TA about this, explain your confusion and maybe they will work with you or tell you what you should do.

Re: Homework for Week 2
For week 3 homework, do we have to answer questions from a specific outline?
Re: Homework for Week 2
It really depends on your TA, but it is recommended that you do the homework that corresponds to the topic that we are studying that week. That way you are more prepared to learn new concepts that may build on previous lessons.
