Conversion
I'm currently working on a homework problem and one of the steps is to convert meters to Joules. Does anyone know a quick conversion or a way to go from meters to Joules? It would really help me out. Thanks!

Meter is a unit of length, whereas Joules is a unit of energy. Perhaps you can post the question? The only relation I can think of has to do with Work (J) = Force (N) * Distance (m).

The unit joules is equal to kg*m^2*s^-2 but I'm not totally sure how that would work in a conversion.

Have you tried listing all of the available information in the problem and seeing if they can apply to any formulas you know?

is the problem asking you to convert some distance to energy? I.e wavelength to energy because then there are formulas that can do that.

The unit for joules (J) in SI units is kg⋅m^2⋅s^−2. Like what others have said, meters and joules are units of measure for different criteria; meters are units of length and joules are units of energy. A possible equation that relates the two is: Kinetic energy = 1/2 * mass * velocity ^2.

These measure different things. A joule measures work, and can have the units of a Newton meter, while a meter just measures length.
