Homework for Week 1
I'm pretty sure I heard correctly. But, is the homework for week 1 due in Lecture on Friday? And then the rest are due at discussion section?
Re: Homework for Week 1
Yes, that is correct! I'm labeling my homework with the discussion section this week to make sure it doesn't get lost in the choas of turning it in during lecture.

I thought the homework of the 5 questions per week are turned in during our discussion classes and the online discussion goes toward our lecture grade but isn't something turned in physically. What homework are you referring to that is turned into the lecture on Friday?

Re: Homework for Week 1
The first five homework problems from the textbook are due this Friday (Oct 4th) in lecture. And then starting next week, the five homework problems are due during our discussion sections each week. The five online posts on Chemistry Community are due by Sunday (Oct 6th) and then it's five every week.
Re: Homework for Week 1
He did it this way (Homework due in class Week 1) because of Thanksgiving Break and people are still shifting around classes. This way everyone has the same amount of time to do the homework. After this week, all the homework will be due in your discussions!

I believe we get to do five questions from the textbook which is due at the beginning of lecture this Friday, Oct. 4. The remaining hw, including the quantum problems, are due in your discussion class as he will go over the topic by your next lecture class.

Re: Homework for Week 1
Are the chemistry community questions definitely due on Sunday October 6th and not by lecture tomorrow?

I was told that they are usually due Sunday during a peer learning session but I recommend you try to get them submitted before lecture tomorrow because the TA was unsure if they are still due on Sundays.

Does anyone know if the homework needs to be written in pen or is it fine to write it in pencil?

Re: Homework for Week 1
I think it should be fine to write in pencil! I've seen some people using one or the other, so it's probably up to personal preference- you should still talk to your TA just to confirm if he or she has any preference.
