Diagnostic test for chem 17 vs 14A

Postby ZevMarx-Kahn3C » Wed Oct 02, 2019 11:03 pm

Hi all!

I just took the diagnostic test Dr. Lavelle sent out to see whether I'm more suited to the Chem 14A class in which I'm currently enrolled or perhaps Chem 17 because I'm VERY rusty on high school chem. But, all it said when I finished it under "Overall Feedback" was "This completes the self-test."

Does anyone know how to see what your score/recommendation is?

It's been a couple of weeks since I took the diagnostic test, but from what I remember, there was a proceeding page that had the results. I honestly don't think the diagnostic test is all too helpful in determining which class you should be in, though. A lot of us are feeling the same about being rusty, so we'll hang in there together! :)

Alright, thank you! Excuse me while I try to go re-learn all of high school chemistry.

At least from the description chem 17 seemed like it was just a repeat of high school chemistry. I think even if you're feeling like you're rusty you will probably do fine in chem 14A. Lavelle said he will go over chemistry topics every time we start a new unit so it's never like we're jumping into anything too difficult without a little bit of a high school refresher.

You're not alone! I actually know quite a few people, myself included, who lost their chemistry with chemistry. That was a horrible joke but you know what I mean!

I remember the site taking me to some page that told me whether I was ready for Chem 14A or not. Don't worry, I'm also rusty on high school chem, especially since it has been 3 years since taking it. We're all on the same page!
