I went to a Step Up session today and I was told that we didn't necessarily had to convert all units to SI units(like grams to kg) if the rest of the units were the same(as in if everything was already written in g, then we did not have to convert units), is this true for the exam?
If the other units are all the same, the ratios will be such that you will get the correct answer whether you convert or not. However, for exam purposes, it's probably best to just convert to SI to be safe, since the problem may require you to give your final answer in SI units.
Today in my Step-up session I was told to use the units that logistically make the most sense for the problem (which will usually be g, L, etc) but it is important to have the knowledge of how to convert between the different units in case it is necessary for a specific question.
