The T in the problems stands for metric tons.
1t=1000kg
1kg=1000g
Therefore, 1t= 1,000,000g.

The T in the question stands for "tons" . 1 ton is equal to 1,000 kg. And one kg is equal to 1,000g. To turn this into grams, you can do

2.5t x 1000kg/1t x 1000g/1kg

The T stands for tons so 1 ton is equal to 1,000 kg and then we use dimensional analysis to convert from kg to g by using 1 kg equals 1,000 grams.
