10^?

Silly question: when you are doing calculations, how do you know what power 10 goes to in the answer? For example:

(6.6.36 x 10^ -34 Js)*(3 x 10^8 m.s)/(3.61 x 10^-19) = 5.51 x 10^-9 m

How would I know/calculate that the answer includes 10^-9?

i think the easiest way would just be to plug the equation, as it's written, into your calculator! If you are having trouble figuring out which 10^?, then I would recommend switching to scientific notation rather than flo. It would probably be easiest just to look up how to do this for your specific calculator.

I may be misinterpreting your question, but you determine the power based on how many decimals you moved either to the left or right. For example, 65,000,000 becomes 6.5 x 10^7 because you moved back 7 decimal places and would therefore need to multiply 6.5 by 10,000,000 to get 65,000,000.
