conversion factors

Postby Hana Sigsbee 3B » Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:34 pm

are there any specific conversion factors we are expected to know for the midterm that are not basic common knowledge ones?

I don't think so. I'm focusing on remembering all of the one's that aren't specifically given (like what units make up a Joule, etc.)

Hello. It's important to know constants like Avogrado's and Planck's that are used often in calculations. And by "know," I mean being familiar with their uses considering we get a sheet of constants to use on our tests. In addition, I'd say that familiarity with that chart of SI to metric conversions wouldn't hurt either.

I agree with familiarizing yourself with the SI units and their conversions. These were not given on the last midterm and I had to try to remember them, so memorizing them will be very helpful.

I would say to just familiarize yourself with the ones on the formula sheet and just try to get a general idea of the meter conversions (nanometer and picometer, etc.).

I think the ones that are on the formula sheets are really important, and also the basic unit conversion like m to cm and etc

Nope, any ones that aren't given on the constants and equations sheet will be given in the problem!

I believe all the ones besides the basics (milli, kilo, cents, etc.) that we would need to know are on our formula sheet.

Other than unit conversions (micro nano pico etc), all the conversions will be on the resource sheet provided for us!
