Units for Midterm 1

Postby DArcy Perlman 1C » Tue Oct 19, 2021 2:11 pm

For Midterm 1, I know that the prefixes (giga, mega, kilo, etc.) and temperature scales (Fahrenheit, Celsius, etc.) aren't on the cheat sheet. How important is it to memorize these values/ are there any certain ones that we should make sure we know (for example nano is used a lot)

Hello!

Yes, nano is a very important one to remember, we we tended to use pico a good amount as well. Also remember that 1 Angstrom = 1*10^-10. In general, though, I don't think it would hurt to memorize all of them just in case.

Angstroms, nano, pico all to meters are good ones to known

mililiters and milimoles are also common ones I saw in fundamentals in some drop in and setup sessions.
