Naming Organic Compounds (substituents)

Postby Pratyush Kandimalla 2O » Fri Mar 03, 2017 9:30 am

How to name an organic compound that has a hydrocarbon chain with substituents as a substituent.
eg -

CH3-CH-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH3
|
H-C-H
H-C-H
H-C-H
H-C-Br
H-C-H
H

For some reason, this post shows the substituent attached to the 1st carbon.
It is attached to the second Carbon.
