Cycloalkane with Only One substituent

Can we assume if a cycloalkane has only one substituent, then the naming doesn't have any numbers in it? Because if there is only one substituent, only one carbon is attached to a "non-carbon" and thus it can only be numbered 1?

Yeah, it's also explained on p.96 of the course reader that one substituent means no numbering.
