The question asks you to write the structural formula for 2-methyl-2-butene, I know how to go about solving this but I had two other questions:
1) For a structural formula is it incorrect to include the double bonds in the formula? For instance (CH3)2C=CHCH3? Or should I not include the double bond because it is implied?
2) Additionally, I first got the answer CH3CHC(CH3)2 which is the given answer but backwards. Does that mean my answer is incorrect or can the structural formula be written either way?
