Benzene

Postby JavierMelgoza2E » Sun Mar 05, 2017 11:15 pm

Should we expect Benzenes to be part of Quiz 3? If so, then can I also label them as Cyclobenzene or is that already implied?

I think we should expect benzene to be a part of quiz 3 because it is very important part if different chemical processes and it is a widely used industrial chemical. Well benzene and cyclobenzne are the same thing so I do not think that you will have to label them because I am sure that this is already implied.

A 6 carbon ring with alternating double bonds is defined as benzene, you do not need to add "cyclo." Doing so would be incorrect.
