Intro to O-CHEM CH.1 Problem #29

Postby Felipe Rubio1H » Tue Mar 14, 2017 4:33 pm

This problem states to draw the structure of (Z)-3-methyl-3-heptene. I drew a structure that shows resemblance to the answer key, but it wasn't exactly the same. For these types of problems, it is okay if our structure doesn't look exactly the same as the answer key, just as long as we have the right components?

How different do your structures look? I'm pretty sure in the case of drawing organic structures all answers are uniform and there isn't variation. If the numbering of carbons is off, maybe you just need to flip your drawing to mirror the answer in the book.
