what if I want to round 14.996 to the nearest hundredth? what result will I get?

If the rounding after the decimal is 5, you round to the nearest even number. Ex: 3.45, 3.4.... 3.55,3.6.

Lets say I'm multiplying a value like (225.099) times a constant such as the speed of light (3.00x10^8). Do I simply use three significant figures because of the constant?

Ive always been told to match the significant figures of my answer with the lowest sig figs given in the problem that is not a constant/converstion factor
