There are a few rules that one must take into consideration when dealing with significant figures.
1. Any number that is not zero is considered significant.
2. Zeros are only considered significant if they are between two significant figures (any non-zero number).
3. Also, zeros that are placed after a decimal are significant when they come after a non-zero number, not before.
4. If a zero comes after a non-zero, it is significant only if it is followed by a decimal point.

Examples: 0.0670 has 3 sig figs
670 has 2 sig figs
670. has 3 sig figs
Hope this helped!

On the Chem 14A class website there’s a link that has everything in detail you need to know about sig figs:

Most of them are mentioned but the one that gets me the most is the rule where if there is a decimal point the zeros after it always counts
