40951. 3 Sig Figs

40951. How would we round this to three sig figs? Because if you round the 9 up you get 41000 which is only 2 sig figs...

To be honest I would just use 41000 since you really can't do anything about it.

You could write it in scientific notation so that it would be 4.10x10^4, that way the 0 is after the decimal point and counts as a sig fig.

I agree with this, especially since it is a trailing zero after the decimal point
