Phenols

Postby Jake_Susi_2J » Mon Mar 13, 2017 5:21 pm

It seems we did not really cover the functional group of phenols in the course reader but it was sometimes introduced in the textbook. Was just wondering if this topic was important for us to know for the purposes of this class or something more for when we get into organic chemistry classes later on.

Phenol is a benzene ring in which one H is replaced by an OH. This is a functional group that is studied in Chem 14C and 14D.
