I got 2,3,7-trimethyloct-6-en-1-al. The book states that the answer is 2,3,7-trimethyloct-6enal. Why would you not put the one? Does putting the one make it wrong?

If there is no number, it is conventionally thought of as being a 1.
E.G. 1-butene is the same as writing butene, etc...
