Why is glucose an aldehyde?

Why is glucose an aldehyde?

I do not understand why glucose is an aldehyde? I cannot find the aldehyde group.

If you look at images of glucose, you can see that it has a linear form with an aldehyde on the end of carbon 1. When it becomes a ring structure, the carbonyl becomes an alcohol.
