Keytone and Aldeyhdes

Postby Mike Vinci 2B » Tue Mar 13, 2018 8:58 pm

Hi all,
I recall Doctor Lavelle talking about keynotes and aldehydes location on a molecule, but I'm confused about which one is only found on the end of molecules, and which one cannot be found on the end of a molecule chain.

Ketone is not at the end of the chain and an aldehyde is only at the end of the chain

I agree with the commentator above. Ketones have their oxygens somewhere within the chains while aldehydes only END their chains with O.

Aldehyde is on the end and ketone is in the middle.
