Amines

In the intro to organic chemistry textbook, on page 82 for the examples provided, what is the difference between N,N and N? How do you know when to include them in the name?

N indicates that the substituents are attached to nitrogen instead of a carbon. Since all of the substituents are attached to nitrogen, they are labeled N instead of a number.
