Do you need to indicate primary, secondary, tertiary, or quaternary when you are naming a molecule with an Amine???

If the question is asking you to name what type of functional group then yes. In the 2013 final exam #5A, points were taken off if you just said "amine" instead of "secondary amine"

I am not sure but I don't think that you have to include it in the name of the actual molecule but you would if they specifically asked about it.

Return to “*Amines”
