this question asks you to name a certain compound
the answer is N-ethyl-N-methylpropan-1-amine
how does one get to that answer? How do you know where to put the N's and where to split the words to put numbers?
the structure looks like:

Ethyl and methyl are the substituents of the Amine so that's when you know to plug in the instead of the numbers

Also, unlike other structure, where a number is placed in front of the substituent to indicate where it is on the carbon chain, "N" is placed in front of the substituent because that is where they start/connected to.
