how do you know when a molecule has an iso or neo part?

Check if any of the substituents fit the iso- or neo- structures we have learned. For example, does the structure have any isobutyl or neopentyl substituents, etc.

iso = -CH(CH3)2
neo = -CH2C(CH3)3
