Electrophiles and Nucleophiles

Postby 004624886 » Sun Feb 21, 2016 10:26 pm

After a reaction where a nucleophile "donates" electrons to a electrophile, can the nucleophile then become an electrophile? can something be a nucleophile and an electrophile?

When nucleophile donates the electron, bond will form and they will become neutral. Amino acid can be both due to the amino group (nucleophile) and carbonyl carbon (electrophile) but one group can't be both.
