Nucleophile and Electrophile
In the book, it says F (Florine) is an electrophile since it wants more electron. Then does that mean Li (Lithium) and Na (sodium) are nucleophiles??

Re: Nucleophile and Electrophile
Yes, fluorine is a nucleophile since it is highly electronegative while Li and Na are electrophiles since they are less electronegative and more positive.
Re: Nucleophile and Electrophile
In the course reader, we can also determine electrophiles and nucleophiles based on delta positive or negative, right? Can anybody explain that to me more clearly please? Thanks!
