How to determine molecular shape

Postby Gisselle Sainz 2F » Tue May 15, 2018 11:38 pm

After drawing our molecular models how do we determine its three-dimensional shape?

I don't think we learned this in lecture yet but I think its based on the number of bonds and what type of bonds there are.

I think we have to refer to VSEPR notation/ molecular geometry for that, which we have not learned yet in this class.

We haven't really mentioned that yet. We are just learning the basics at the moment

The 3-d molecular geometry of compounds has not been discussed in detail yet. I would just focus on the linearity of the compound at this point when observing interactions or Van Der Waals forces between compounds.

What does it mean the electrons in the control atom ?
