pOH

For the final, do we need to know how to calculate pOH, or just pH?

I believe so we do.

I think we need to know both because they go hand in hand! pOH = 14 - pH!

Just know that pOH is the -log[OH-] and a low pOH means that the solution is more basic. While we're on this topic, does anyone know why a low pKA means that it is a stronger acid?

We do need to be able to do both. In all the homework problems (or most) you had to find both. But they are pretty easy and depending on which compounds we are working with it is a useful skill.

The higher the pKA value, the more tight the proton is held. Since one of the properties of a strong acid is its ability to lose a proton, the lower pKA value leads to stronger acidity. Also, a low pKA value means there is a high KA value, which also leads to stronger acidity.
