Amphoteric Oxides
I was just wondering if we had to memorize the amphoteric oxides, or if there's a method of determining them using the periodic table?

I'm not sure if we have to memorize this for the test but here is a vid that would help you out

There is the diagonal trend that Lavelle showed us in class on the periodic table. I would just use that. Just google, amphoteric compounds periodic table. It will show the trend in Google images.

I don't know if we'll have to remember all of them, but Dr. Lavelle said that there is a diagonal band of amphoteric oxides, between the metal oxides and nonmetal oxides, that closely matches the diagonal band of metalloids.

I do believe we have to memorize them. It will probably be useful to know them so that you understand why a reaction with them may act a certian way
