How do you know the pKa?

You would have to do research in order to figure out the pKa of a molecule. It cannot simply be figured out just by looking at the molecule.

You will need to find the concentration of products (ions) and the initial acid through experimentation (when mixed with water). In this case, pH is often equal to pKa. The general equation would be: [+ion][-ion]/[acid]

I thought pKa and Ka was not material covered in the 14A final? Will we be tested on this as well?
