Homework Questions

Postby Ahmet_Dikyurt_3L » Wed Oct 03, 2018 8:52 pm

I know that the homework is just 7 questions of our choice but I was wondering if we have to answer a question from every topic. For example, this week, there is E, F, G, H, L, and M, so do we have to do one from each or can I turn in all 7 from E.

I'm not completely sure, but the is how I see it: Basically, you're supposed to do problems for whatever the material covered in the week in question is/was. So if you cover information that would be part of multiple letter sections, then you're supposed to do problems from those sections.

I think we're allowed to submit our questions from either one section or all the sections as long as we have a minimum of 7. The main thing the TAs are grading for is accuracy so any combination of problems should be fine.

We can choose any 7 questions we want. However, I recommend choosing ones on subjects that you feel you need the most practice on.

Do we get partial credit on our homework problems if some of the work shown is correct?

Does anyone know if/when the modules are due and if they're graded at all?

The modules are not graded; you can redo them as many times as you want. So no, there is no date to complete them.

By the end of Week 2, we are supposed to have completed the "Photoelectric Effect", "Atomic Spectra and the Bohr Frequency Condition", "Wave Properties of Electrons and the De Broglie Equation", and "Heisenberg Uncertainty Equation" modules!

I think you can do any 7 you want but it's probably better to do most of the ones he lists for practice for the test

Thank you, I was wondering this too! To be safe, I just answered one problem from each section of the problem set, but I don't think I needed to do that. I'm pretty sure that we can choose any seven questions, even if they are all from the same section.

Will homework always be due on Friday during the lecture? Or will we switch to turning in HW to the TA during our discussion period? Just wondering because what if we have to turn in homework that wasn't covered yet (in case our lecture is after our discussion period).

I did one question from each section just in case, but I'm pretty sure any 7 will be fine! I think that we will usually turn homework in during the discussions.

Homework will be due, starting next week, during our discussion section

I believe we need to turn in Week 2’s homework to our TAs, because Week 1 was only a special case (we were trying to get used to deadlines and such before then).

You can do any problems on the homework to turn in. However, if you only get practice on one section, you're setting yourself up for failure in the other portions of the test, so try to get as much practice in as you can.
