diatomic molecules

Postby Erica Li 1C » Thu Oct 04, 2018 4:40 pm

Is there any helpful way to memorize the diatomic molecules?

There is an acronym :

HNOFClBrI usually pronounced H nofclbri and those are all the diatomic molecules

I know this sounds stupid but:

hydrogen, nitrogen, fluorine, oxygen, iodine, chlorine, bromine

Since we are given a periodic table, it may be helpful to know where the diatomic molecules are located. They form a "7" (3 across, 4 down), with the exception of hydrogen.

The diatomic molecules are hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine. Most of these are located in the upper right corner of the periodic table. You can also think of it as the halogens + HNO!

Dear friend,

There is a beautiful computer website and even smartphone application called Quizlet! You are able to make flashcards for anything and test yourself anywhere at any time as long as you have your mobile device or computer. There are even games and tests that Quizlet can do for you. The best about it is that it is free! Give it a shot.

Kind Regards,
Albert Luu
