Molar Mass is expressed as a capital letter M and should not be confused with molarity. Dr. Lavelle underlines the M for molarity to distinguish the two. The units for molar mass are g/mol. Hope this helped! :)
That's correct. The notation for molar mass is M. However, the notation for molarity is also M, so when a question has M in it, be sure you know which M it's referring to. If the units for it is g/mol, then it's referring to molar mass, whereas if the units are in mol/L, then it's referring to molarity.
