Test 1
For the test, do we need to show each step of the problem? Are points given from showing work?

Re: Test 1
You should show as much work as necessary to get points. It says that work must be shown to get credit, but it doesn't say how many steps.

I would say definitely err on showing too much work. That way, your TA will be able to follow your work and award partial credit. Some TAs require you to use pen, so if that's the case for you, definitely make clear what work you want to be graded.

It also helps to write out the units so that you can make sure that everything will cancel so that you can end up with the correct units.

I would always show my work on a test just to be safe. It also helps show whoever is grading it your thought process, and some teachers even give out partial credit if your work shows you just made a minor error instead of a conceptual one.

I would definitely show work on the test. In addition to getting partial points, it also decreases your chances of making minor mistakes instead of doing the work in your head.

Definitely show enough work to get points, or partial credit if you mess up somewhere. Don't worry about being overly thorough though because you do want to make sure that you finish the test in time.
