Do we need to know how to translate the name of chemical compounds into their respective formulas for the quiz?

I also was wondering this. My TA said that we would not be expected to translate from written word --> formula but several UAs have said otherwise.

I would go with whatever your TA says to your discussion section; our TA specified that we would be given formulas for any chemical compounds!

I think we might need to know how to write basic chemical compounds -> names but I am not sure. I doubt they're expecting us to know complex compound formulas from names just yet. If your TA told you something regarding the test then you should probably take that into account because I feel like the TA might know what's on the test. If you still aren't sure, you can always email your TA with a question and see if they can help out. Hope this helps!
