Moles in photoelectric effect?

Can someone explain to me why there are moles associated with Joules or the photoelectric effect in general? How are moles related to frequency etc? The mole questions really throw me off.

A mole isn't referring to a specific type of unit; instead, it is a numerical representation of whatever object, unit, etc. is at hand. There are 6.022 x 10^23 objects of whatever your measuring. This could be atoms, molecules, Joules, etc. It's just a measurement similar to how a "dozen" works.

If the threshold energy is given in Joules/mole, you just have to divide by Avogadro's number (6.022x10^23) in order to cancel the units. Then you will just have Joules and can use that number in your equations.
