1.3 Which of the following happens when the frequency
of electromagnetic radiation decreases? Explain your reasoning.
(a) The speed of the radiation decreases.
(b) The wavelength of the radiation decreases.
(c) The extent of the change in the electrical field at a given point decreases.
(d) The energy of the radiation increases.

For b, wavelength and frequency are inversely related so they cannot both decrease at the same time due to c=lambda*nu

The answer is C, the extent of the change in the electrical field at a given point decreases, because since E =hv, when frequency decreases, so does energy. Less energy means less of a change in the electrical field. Hope this helps!

Energy and frequency and directly proportional, because when the frequency increases so does the energy.
