## Momentum and Wavelike Properties

### Momentum and Wavelike Properties

In class, Prof. Lavelle stated that De Broglie's equation referred only to particles with momentum and wavelike properties. I understand how a particle may not have momentum, but is this correlative to wavelike properties? In what scenario would a particle not have wavelike properties?

All particles have wavelike properties; it's just a matter of whether you can measure the wavelength or not.

Everything has wavelike properties, it is just if it is too big then it is too small to be detected. Lavelle did this by using the de Broglie equation with a car, but the wavelength was too small to detect. It is noticeable in particles because they are small, so the wavelength properties are more apparent.
