Atomic Spectra Module #37

Postby Mariam Baghdasaryan 4F » Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:03 pm

37. Write the equation that allows one to calculate the electronic energy levels for the hydrogen atom. Do the calculated energies compare favorably with empirical observation (spectroscopic results)?

C. E = -hR/(n2), No
D. E = -hR/(n2), Yes

Is the 2nd question asking whether the calculated version will have less errors than the empirical? If so, is the answer D?

Is this from Outline 2 or 3?

I think the second question refers to whether the calculated results will match the experimentally observed results. Since they do confirm the experimentally observed results, the answer would be yes.
