Previous students have told me they are around 8 questions with multiple parts.

So is the format going to be similar to the discussion tests we've been taking?

Yeah, based on what I’ve heard from older students they should be somewhat similar to the last two tests we’ve had

Based on previous exams, there are about 8 to 10 questions, however the midterm is worth 110-120 points.

I believe it will be around 10 questions, at least that's what former students have said.

I believe it is around eight problems and we have two hours to complete the midterm. I think the best thing to do is to expect questions that are multiple parts. For example, for fundamentals it may be like our first test where we have to balance an equation then use that balanced equation to solve for a limiting reagent or anything else.

8 questions with subparts. The midterm format will be similar to our past exams.

According to professor Lavelle it will be 8 questions with multiple subparts. It should be quite similar in difficulty to test 2 according to my TA. My TA also said that we should have plenty of time to complete it since it will be just a bit longer than test 2 even though we will have almost triple the amount of time to complete it.

I think it's around 8 questions but there will be multiple parts to it (a,b,c,d,e) and we will have just two hours to solve them all. Hopefully we have enough time to be able to finish and review our answers.

I think it is 8 questions with multiple parts. It will probably be similar to the tests we've already taken.

Do we know how many questions from each section will be in the test? Like how many from the fundamentals, quantum, and chemical bonds? I know there’s 8 but how is it going to be divided?

I believe the test will cover the three major units: Fundamentals, Chap 1 and Chap 2 (up to 2C), but it's really a toss up on what will be tested within those units. In my opinion, it's okay to review concepts you know well but it's better to review those you're still unsure on (especially ones you missed on tests) to budget time.

My TA said that the amount of questions from each section would correlate to the amount of time we spent on said section.
