Nodes and Nodal Planes

Nodes and Nodal Planes
I'm having a bit of trouble with what these are and how they relate to the quantum numbers and wavefunction. Can someone please explain what these are?

Nodal planes are where there are no electrons in an atom. Because s-orbitals are spherical, they have no nodal planes. P-orbitals have 1, d-orbitals have 2, and so on.
