Actual Yield
I was wondering if there was any way to calculate actual yield or does it need to be given to us?

Re: Actual Yield
Actual yield can be experimentally determined, but I think in most, if not all cases, actual yield will just be given.

Re: Actual Yield
Actual yield is calculated based off of the results of an experiment while theoretical yield is calculated based off of the complete reaction of the limiting reactant. Actual yield should be given to us in any problem that requires it since it's impossible to determine without conducting the experiment!

Re: Actual Yield
Theoretical yield is calculated from the experiment with any errors that might occur, and actual yield is what's supposed to be the outcome, excluding any small errors. Percent Yield= actual/theoretical x100.

Re: Actual Yield
Actual yield can only be determined by actually performing the experiment so right now it should always be given in the problem if you are trying to calculate percent yield.

Re: Actual Yield
Our calculations will only give us the theoretical yields. The actual yield will always be given to us according to experimental results.
Re: Actual Yield
Actual yield is usually given in the problem, but it can be calculated from an experiment.
