In the syllubus is says that you need 50% to get a c- or higher. Does that mean you need 250/500 points to pass the class?

Re: Grades
I believe so because it doesn't specify that you need 50% on any one assignment category, so it would be 250/500 in the course.

my TA said 50% in the class is passing, so I believe 250 points is enough to pass the class

Re: Grades
If I understand correctly, yes 250 points will allow you to pass the class. However I have heard from past students that he also adjusts the grading scale a little bit based on the average of the class, that is why there are so many A's in his classes on Bruinwalk.

Re: Grades
I believe so but he will also adjust the grading scale according to the amount of points people tend to have by the end of the course.

Re: Grades
It was also mentioned in a previous post that there might be a 3-5 percent curve based on class average.

Re: Grades
Approximately yes, the accurate number I believe will be calculated after taking into account the class' average
