Will we learn how to draw the sigma and pi bonds? Will this be on the test? Can someone explain how they intersect and what it means?

Since we have only slightly been introduced to this concept in the lectures, I do not believe that we will be asked to draw these on the exams. In spite of this, however, sigma bonds are bonds which are formed when the orbitals bond along a particular bonding plane. Pi bonds are formed when the bonds are formed perpendicular to the bonding plane which they are forming along.

I don't think you will have to draw a sigma or pi bond, but you should know how they look on the internuclear axis. Sigma bonds are bonded directly on the axis, and pi bonds are bonded above/below the axis. Therefore, sigma bonds are moveable and can rotate, but pi bonds cannot rotate.
