How to state bond angles.
During any test do we have to give an approximate bond angle, for instance “107.5 degrees” or can we just put “slightly less than 109.5 degrees” for the answer?

You can put slightly less than 109.5 degrees, Lavelle has said he does not expect us to know the exact degree but rather know that it is less than

I believe just putting "less than 109.5 degrees" is fine for all bond angles around 100-109 degrees.

Answering with slightly less than 109.5 is what Lavelle probably expects. From speaking with friends that took this course previously that would suffice for an answer.

Would we ever have to say << 109.5 degrees when there are more lone pairs?

You are not expected to know the exact degree of the angle, but you are expected to say less than 109.5 degrees.

You don't need to know the exact bond angle but you should know something along the lines of less than 109.5 degrees if you don't know the specifics.
