With Respect to the Final

Postby Kimberly 1H » Sat Dec 01, 2018 8:52 pm

Will we be required to know how to name the compound or is it more important to know what the compound is made up of from the formula for the final? To what extent will this material be tested on the final?

You should probably be familiar with both for the final. I'm not too sure what it would entail, but try practicing both

I believe you have to know both, especially if such problems are on the homework.

Probably both. What if you're asked to find the molarity of a solution that is made up of water and a compound but they give you the name of the compound rather than the molecular formula?

Yeah, you will need to know how to name compounds because in a lot of the homework problems, the name is given instead of the molecular formula. He usually says that the final will be similar to the homework problems.

It is best to be comfortable with both. It will only help

I think it will be incorporated in various questions. Nothing too hard. I think that you should know both, what elements make up the compound and what the compound's name entails. It may be to write out an equation or other cases. I'm sure it won't be too bad.

Given the fact that multiple homework questions necessitate the knowledge of both, it would make sense that you must know both for the final. After all, any one of those homework questions could appear on the final (The Final review session paper states that "Questions will come from the Homework and Online Assessments").

I think since it is in the hw problems, it would probably be a safe bet to know them.

The homework for that section includes both, so I would practice both.
